HOTELS
The Cavalier Resort Hotel & Club Convention Center
Founded in 1927, the hotel has attracted a wide range of guests and celebrities, including seven former presidents such as Dwight D. Eisenhower and Richard Nixon. The Cavalier was used as a naval training center during World War II and its concierge, Carlos Wilson, who's worked for the hotel since 1938, remembers the joyous celebration the night the War ended. The Cavalier's 18-acre property boasts two hotels, including the original Cavalier On The Hill, open to overnight guests during the high summer season, and the modern Cavalier On The Ocean. With 400 guest rooms and suites, in-season guests have access to four restaurants, a variety of recreational activities, and an expanded beachfront in an ongoing oceanfront expansion effort spearheaded by the city. The Cavalier's summer oceanfront, with its brightly striped canopies, umbrellas, and vending areas has been described as "magical." To be recognized as the best on the beach is not an honor that is earned overnight. Since her historic opening, The Cavalier has been an unwavering beacon on Virginia Beach. Dignified in her impeccable services. Constant in her commitment to perfection. Pleasing guests in ever more fulfilling ways.
