We’re 1/3 of the way through 2016- are you on top of your dance vision? Keeping ourselves accountable is one of the most important steps to success in the dance competition world, in the performance world, and in life.

A few years ago when I had to make some major lifestyle changes so that I could get healthy, I kept myself accountable by writing a blog about my progress. The feedback I received kept me motivated and forced me to keep my vision clear and focused. After about 4 months my vision of my new healthy life was staring back at me in the face. It was the most awesome feeling in the world!

So how do you keep your eye on the dance prize, especially when your vision of performance success requires a long-term commitment? My own story showed me the way: accountability. Knowing that I had people waiting to hear my progress each week kept my vision front and center every day. When things got hard or felt like it was too much work, I thought about all those people I had shared my vision with and couldn’t imagine letting them down. They had been my cheerleaders helping me keep my vision focused and in sight. My readers gave me the inspiration, push, and drive to keep going.

Who’s keeping your dance vision in sight? Set up an accountability system for yourself and watch the magic happen. You’ve got three months left in the dance competition year to make good on your September vision. Seize the day and focus on your vision now.
