#ScholarshipOfTheWeek – The Jay Franke Scholarship

Although we all are uniquely different, each of us has a gift that we can use to make this world a better place. The only way to nurture our talent is through practice and education. Yes, education is an expensive investment, but it is a step worth taking. The good news is that there are people and organizations who are willing to help. The Diabetes Scholars Foundation is committed to helping fund the education of students who deal with type 1 diabetes.
The Jay Franke Scholarship
The Diabetes Scholars Foundation’s college scholarship program seeks to help finance incoming freshman college students who have type 1 diabetes. Their mission focuses on recognizing students with diabetes who are involved in the diabetes community, have high academic performance and demonstrate to have successfully manage the challenges that come along with living with diabetes. The Jay Franke Scholarship will be awarded to two students who are pursuing an Arts Degree. The majors an Arts Degree include music, dance and theater. Two winners will be awarded $5,000 each that can be applied to his or her school tuition and fees.
In order to find out if you are eligible for this awesome scholarship, the general requirements include that students must be:
- High School Senior that will be an incoming Freshman in the Fall of 2018
- Have type 1 diabetes
- U.S. citizen or permanent resident
- Studying at an accredited four-year college, technical or trade school
If this sounds like something you are interested in, do not put it off. Start now to ensure that you put your best foot forward. The application deadline for The Jay Franke Scholarship is Sunday, April 15, 2018. The winners will be telephoned no later than June 2018.
