#SQBehindTheScenes – The Concierge Team

Our studios and dancers are family to us and we strive to take care of them every day of the year. That is where our Concierge Team steps in! Come behind the scenes with us as we talk to Becky, our Head Concierge.
What does the concierge team do?
The concierge team focuses on our studios and their needs. We build relationships with the studios by talking about their experiences both in and out of competition. We also ask everyone to give us valuable feedback so we can grow and better suit the needs of the industry. This open communication with the studios allows us to bring a StarQuest experience that is best suited for each individual. Our goal is to make sure everyone has a great time at StarQuest and takes home memories that last forever!
What are some of the tasks you take care of?
The majority of our days are spent talking to our studios and getting to know more about them. If they choose to attend a StarQuest event, our goal is to make the process before and after as seamless as possible. We assist the studios in the reservation process, through online registering and payments, and help make any changes needed prior to the event. After the event we will contact the studios to gain their valuable insight and feedback about the event. We also help with judges critiques, Gift Certificates, and anything else the studios may need before and after the events.
Why is your position so important during the off-season?
The off season is the prime time for studios who are gearing up for the next year. A studio owner does SO MUCH in a given day – we want to take as much off of their plate as we can for the competition season. We are there to help answer questions, ease the reservation process, and make sure they can relax knowing everything will be taken care of.
How does your job affect a dancer’s experience on-site at one of our competitions?
If the registration process is seamless, their studio director can feel confident walking into the competition. If we can build an awesome relationship before to the event, the studio will know what to expect, and we can lay the foundation for a great experience before they even show up. The elimination of stress we strive to provide helps the studios spend more time focusing on their dancers before and during the event. Ultimately we want to give them the opportunity to perform their best and have fun!
What do you love about working for StarQuest?
I always say that my job is making friends. I love that I get to speak to so many different people about their lives and what pushes them. The people I speak to are passionate about helping kids grow all day. What’s not to love?!
What is your favorite song to dance to?
Right now, it is Lizzo’s “Like A Girl!”
