This week’s #SQMemoryOfTheWeek shines a spotlight on the incredible artistry and resilience of two dancers from TDP Dance Company: Jacey and Kayden. Both are proudly hard-of-hearing / Deaf, and both are living proof that dance is a universal language that goes far beyond sound. Jacey, who has been dancing for 14 years, and Kayden, who has been dancing for 10, share a unique way of experiencing music. Instead of relying on hearing aids when competing, which can make the sound fuzzy, they turn up the bass and let the vibrations guide them, feeling the rhythm through the floor beneath their feet. One of their favorite parts of competing is connecting with the backstage crew. Since they ask for their music to be turned up, those moments often spark bonds and friendships that make each competition extra special. And perhaps, the most heartwarming part of their journey? Jacey and Kayden shared that they’re simply grateful to have each other by their side. Their story is a powerful reminder that dance transcends barriers and that the strongest rhythms are often the ones we feel, not just hear. Thank you Jacey and Kayden for sharing your powerful story, you are this week’s perfect #SQMemoryOfTheWeek ! ...
